Dr. Justin Shmalberg is one of the world’s foremost experts in veterinary nutrition & integrative medicine.
A board-certified specialist in both the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Nutrition) and in the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation (ACVSMR), Shmalberg is also a Clinical Professor of Integrative Medicine at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine.
Before becoming a vet, he founded one of the first natural pet supply retailers in the Midwest, and went on to earn his veterinary degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Today, he’s a frequent lecturer and instructor on integrative veterinary medicine, and publishes scientific articles on a variety of related topics with the goal of providing evidence-based approaches to this increasingly popular field. He’s completed several years of advanced nutrition and integrative medicine training at the University of Florida, where he now serves as a faculty member.
He also spends time treating animals, conducting and publishing research on pet nutrition, consulting with companies that share his mission and philosophy, and educating the veterinarians of the future.
